bucket list :: horseback riding

I’ve never felt compelled to sit down and write a list of things that I want to do in this life, the so called bucket list. Don’t get me wrong I am a list maker. I have so many running lists at the moment, I can’t seem to find which list an item is on to check it off once a task is complete! I digress.

Horseback riding has always been something I’ve wanted to try. When a friend, Edita, started teaching at a local stable I knew the time to give it a go is now. Yesterday I had my first lesson. Filou was the horse I worked with. I am not sure if I enjoyed his grooming or the riding better. The whole experience was exhilarating and I will have two more lessons before we leave for Christmas break.

What a rush to do something I’ve always wanted to do!

What is on your bucket list?

Love to all,

  1. Have been enjoying your wonderful blog this morning. We lived in Haschbach from 2005-2009 in the very first house in the village. It is a beautiful, magical place. My daughter rode and loved Filou! I miss our time in beautiful Germany. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family and photos. They bring back such fond memories of our time in Haschbach.

    • Thanks for your message, Christine. I am glad you enjoyed our blog. I can’t believe that your daughter rode Filou!! We have lived in Haschbach for almost four years now. It has been our favorite place since moving to Europe 11 years ago. We hope to stay settled here for many years to come. It truly is a magical place.

  2. Good for you, Melissa! I took horseback riding lessons when I lived in Boulder about 40 years ago and just loved it! My brother-in-law has horses that he sometimes breaks and then sells, so both our girls used to ride when they spent time with Bill’s sister in Estes Park. They always enjoyed it too!
    Love,
